Home Crush

All above photos taken by apartment therapy contributor Ashley Poskin.

Last year Apartment Therapy featured  the beautiful home of our neighbors Matthew and Jaime of Fancy Tiger Clothing and Fancy Tiger Crafts.  Matthew and Jaime have been good friends to us since our move to Denver, introducing us to our first rodeo for one, and have been supportive for me as an artist.  They also own a couple of pieces of mine, one entitled "Bar Food" was captured in their feature on apartment therapy.  It's nice to see work find a good home!

looking closely at starting a needlepoint picture - some helpful inspiration / recently returned old stock which is nice to see with fresh eyes / a wonderful surprise gift of trivet and coasters made from 1930's bobbins /  new cross stitched wall hanging, 'Women in Bathtubs in Apartments' 13.25" x 21.75" / sticks found on a walk which I'd like to incorporate into future work.

Exquisite Corpse

British Columbia, Colorado & Quebec

Last month I asked Amber Albrecht (BC) and Chris Tucker (QC) to collaborate with me for this year's Exquisite Corpse show at GroundSwell Gallery here in Denver.  I started each side, Amber completed the West side, and Chris the East.  I couldn't be there for the show because I was in Quebec but I snapped this picture just before the show came down.

Peach & Black

Some images from my series called Citizens' band.  I wanted to leave more empty space and keep it simple with colour, a challenge for me these days.

Pictures

Sara and I have shared a Flickr stream since 2006 documenting our work and time as The Pin Pals. Since altering it's layout, I've given the site my best shot at adaption, but I can't seem to find clarity in the endlessly scrolling crazy quilt of pictures.

It might be fitting, however, to offer new places to see our work, as perhaps it was time for a change anyways.

Find Sara's new work here:  saraguindon.com

and my (Sam's) new work here: maudstitchwork.tumblr.com

It's interesting the effect a change can have on old habits. We don't plan to close the account anytime soon, as we want to preserve old images, and stay in touch with contacts we've made through the years. Just a difference in hosts, to accommodate the most important thing - the pictures.
